About John Flanagan
John Flanagan has a wife, 3 kids, and 4 grand kids and lives in Sydney, Australia. Before he was a writer John worked in advertising and television commercials (World of John Flanagan). While working at the station, he wrote a poem about a top-level executive. Luckily for him, one of the other people at his work agreed with his thoughts, though he had talent and trained him in writing. He later then co-created with a very good friend a television series "Hey Dad" (World of John Flanagan). He developed the Rangers Apprentice by making story's for his son Micheal to show that all heroes didn't have to be athletic and muscular. Now many years after the Rangers Apprentice books became a huge hit and have been on the New York Times Best Sellers List and is in the children's book awards in Australia (World of John Flanagan). He has also written the Brother-band Chronicles. When writing the Rangers Apprentice books, John Flanagan thought of himself like Halt who is the trainer of apprentice Will (the main character). This is because he created these stories for his son (who he would think as would be Will) so he thought himself as teaching him what it means to be a "good person".
