Literary Analysis
The Rangers Apprentice Chronicles begins with the main protagonist Will trying to become an Apprentice but sadly no one wanted to have Will as an Apprentice besides one shady man which nobody in Wills class knew about. This man is named Halt and had apparently been watching Will for quite some time. Will had lived most of his life inside of the castle of Baron Arald after his mother and father died of some tragic cause. (Library Point) So now Will for the first time in years is now going leave the castle and learn what it takes to become a ranger. Along the way, Will runs into past friends, enemies, and teachers and he will overcome the struggles that the evil Morgarath and the Wargal Army have caused. One main ally to Will is his best friend (later on) Horace who got accepted into the battle school and is training as a knights apprentice. Another ally to Will is Alyss who was an orphan just like Will and Horace. She got accepted to be a Courier's apprentice for Lady Pauline. Lastly, there is Halt who agreed to train Will how to be a Ranger. Halt was a "hero" of the kingdom but his tale is not known by many. He had discovered Morgarath's last plans which led to them winning the war. It was thanks to Halt that the war was many years ago but that enemy is coming back for revenge. Morgarath had betrayed the kingdom long ago and wanted revenge for his banishment so he created an army of Wargals (bird-like creatures) to fight at his side. Now many years after the war Morgarath has come back to try to get revenge once again. Is Will ready to face this challenge and does he have what it takes to become a Ranger?
